Día de los Muertos Celebration Uses Artistic Displays

By Katie Farkas

Cindy Maguire, associate professor of communications, and Ann Holt, an adjunct art professor, with cohosts ISS and LGSSLC, made and decorated sugar skulls to create an ofrenda, a temporary altar to honor their loved ones to celebrate Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). It originated in Mexico and is celebrated on Nov. 1 and 2. The AU community are welcome to add a small item to this ofrenda, located outside of Harvey Hall, in honor of someone they have lost.
